Trekell Brushes
A solid direct-sell brush maker and a long-time value, though prices have crept up, the line I used before moving to Rosemary & Co.
Trekell is an American brush company that sells direct, which keeps the quality up and the price below what a general art-supply store charges for the same level. They make a broad range of oil and acrylic brushes in bristle and synthetic. Like any direct-sell maker, the value is in skipping the store markup.
I used Trekell for a long time before switching to Rosemary & Co. They are a good direct-sell maker and still a better value than buying brushes off a store wall, but their prices have gone up, which is part of why I moved. If you are choosing between the two, both are worth it, I simply preferred Rosemary in the end.
What it is. Oil and acrylic brushes, bristle and synthetic, sold direct from the maker in the US.
Why it matters. Buying brushes direct from a smaller company is almost always a better value than the marked-up wall at a general art-supply store. Trekell has been one of those makers for years.
The tradeoff. Prices have risen, which narrows the value gap that made them an easy pick. Compare current pricing against another direct-sell maker before you commit to a full set.
Yes. They are a solid direct-sell maker with a broad range, and they have long been a better value than buying brushes at a general art-supply store. Prices have risen over time, so it is worth comparing against another direct maker.
Both are good and both beat a store-wall brush on value. I used Trekell for years, then switched to Rosemary & Co for the quality and price after Trekell's prices went up. Either is a reasonable choice.
